Framing Expertise — Building Precision from the Ground Up

Framing is where craftsmanship meets structure — and at ARW, it’s where our experience speaks the loudest.
Every renovation or new build begins with a plan, but the real success lies in how that plan is executed on-site: line by line, stud by stud, ensuring every wall is square, level, and true.
Experience on Real Sites
Over years of projects across Richmond and the Lower Mainland, our team has learned that no wall is perfectly straight and no floor is perfectly level — yet precision is still achievable. Before we lift the first stud, we laser-check the foundation for deviations, mark control lines across the slab, and adjust each plate to create a perfectly level reference. This early alignment saves hours of correction work later when cabinets, flooring, or drywall come into play.
We don’t rush the first wall. That first line defines everything — ceiling heights, door reveals, alignment for electrical boxes, and even the slope tolerance for drainage. Once the first wall is true, the rest follows naturally.

Methodology That Matters
We rely on precise layout and disciplined sequencing. Walls are pre-assembled and checked on the ground before standing; double top plates are tied into ceiling joists to prevent future shifting; and every load-bearing point is confirmed against the engineer’s drawing, not just intuition.
When framing renovations, where existing walls rarely match modern codes, we custom-shim every stud to match drywall thickness, ensuring that the finishing carpenter never fights uneven surfaces. This level of attention doesn’t just make the project look good — it makes everything else fit better.
Efficiency Through Experience
Framing is also about rhythm — the ability to move fast without compromising precision. Our crew works with laser levels, impact drivers, and collated fasteners to maximize speed and consistency. But the real efficiency comes from forethought: knowing when to frame around HVAC rough-ins, where to leave access for plumbers, and how to minimize material waste without weakening structure.
Every decision, from layout sequence to nail spacing, reflects experience earned from years of building and rebuilding — sometimes learning the hard way so clients don’t have to.
Our Philosophy
A well-framed structure is invisible when finished — and that’s the point. If the walls are straight, the floors level, and the structure solid, no one will notice. But we will. Because we know that precision framing is the quiet backbone of every lasting home.
